One of the core values and goals of Abundant Life Foundation is Helping People Develop Life Skills So They Can Help Themselves. Through years of experience and observation, it has become obvious to us that the root cause of most problems in society somehow revolves around poverty. We realized the need to create dignity in the lives of people by helping them to successfully attain skills that enable them to properly care for their families without outside assistance.
There is an old saying…. “If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day….. If you teach him how to fish, you feed him for his life.” We are endeavoring to help people for life by helping them to develop viable means of income to properly care for their families.
Coffee Cultivation is one of the projects that are helping multiple hundreds of families already. Coffee was one of the cash crops introduced by the King of Thailand as a crop substitution for opium production that was rampant many years ago. The Royal Project has experienced tremendous success and has virtually eliminated opium production in Thailand. Coffee cultivation, backed by the Forestry Department of Thailand helps to reclaim land that was destroyed through primitive slash and burn farming techniques. It allows rural families to create an income on a relatively small area of land.
Let’s Go Wholesale Supply Company has also been developed as a means to create jobs and income for families. This project has just been launched in 2010, but holds great potential to create jobs for thousands of families across Thailand.
